Step by Step Guide to Siding
STEP #1 TEAROFF EXISTING SIDING
STEP #2 INSTALL HOUSE WRAP
- Before the job begins material and dumpster are in place.
-Time line and scope of work is discussed with siding crew.
-Remove exist siding, trim fascia and soffit as needed.
-Inspect sheathing under siding and wood trim.
-Install house wrap to protect sheathing and flash windows, doors, ect..
-Tape seams of house wrap to prevent water intrusion.
STEP #3 INSTALL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE CORNERS
-Inside corners give siding a finished look and prevent water from entering behind siding.
-Outside corners create a finished corner and allow siding to tuck into the corner neatly.
STEP #4 J-CHANNEL AND J-BLOCKS
-J-Blocks (Left) is installed for appearance and to allow mositure to travel around electrical, water outlets, and power outlets.
- J-Channel is install around windows and doors to allow water to travel around windows and allows siding to insert into the J-Channel giveing a very clean finished look.
-Stater is install to the peremeter of the building , and hold the first row of siding in place.
STEP #6 SIDING INSTALLATION
-Siding is installed level and the nailing is not tight to allow the panel to move.
-Siding should fit neatly in all j-channels, corners and j-blocks.
-Siding is constructed to lock tightly together from one piece to another.
-Siding should flow evenly around corner and threw obstacles.
-caulk should be applied only were necessary(ie. between j-channel and trim.
WRAPING TRIM, FASCIA & SOFFIT (OPTIONAL FOR SIDING JOBS)
-Window and door wraps are custom bent from alum. to cover existing trim to change the color and make the trim more maintenance free ( no painting).
-Fascia and Soffit is installed to make maintenance free and change appearance.
COMPLETION OF PROJECT "AFTER"
-After the project is complete, jobis clean and inspected.
